Ghirardelli BABY SHOWER FAVOR

My daughter is having a baby girl in December. I am already thinking pink and baby favors. This is what I thought I might make.

I used:

3 x 4 cello bag
Big Shot Top Note Die by Stampin Up
ribbon
2 Ghirardelli chocolates

I used the big shot to cute the brown base. Then I cut the white one. Along the border is a edge that has little holes in it. I cut along that to make it smaller so the brown showed in the background.

I punched two holes and weaved the ribbon through to make a bow and hold the whole thing together. So many more to make. Oh my!!

Hi, Welcome!! Thanks to Melissa for starting this blog hop. We had to use the color Pink, and could have black and white with it too.

I made this card and used the Best of 2007 Cricut Cartridge. I cut the cup at 2 1/2" and the steam at 2 1/2". The saying is from Pink by Design with Sarah Pink Cricut. The stamp set is Treats and Tags. I love this set. I inked the edges pink.

I also made this Post it Note Holder. It is a 4 x 6 clear picture frame. I added the black background paper (where you have a picture) Used a pink chipboard flower I had. Pink post it note paper and a black ribbon with a pink pen and pink gem stone.

Baby Boy Collage Picture Frame

Well I made another one. This one is to sell at work. I'm just having so much fun making them.

8 x 10 frame

cut paper matt to fit frame

cut 12 squares at 2 1/2 then 12 squares at 2 1/8 or 2 1/16

coordinate the paper

embelish as many squares as you like with stickers, stamps, etc.

Ok, I really can't stop making these. LOL They are just so much fun to put together. Almost like a puzzle. Where to put this square, this embellishment. I will be bringing this one to work to start selling them this week.

It is basically an 8 x 10 frame. I cute the background paper to the size of the cardboard in the middle of the frame.

The squares are pink and white. About 2 1/2 in. Then I layer with a different pattern paper usually 2 1/8 or 2 1/16th. Embellish the squares or leave some plain if you have a nice pattern.

You will love making these. Saw ones like this on a Stampin up site not sure which one.

Teacher Collage Picture Frame!!

Last week I made a Baby Collage Picture Frame for a gift. This week I got an order for one done for a Teacher. They wanted one square left sort of blank so they could write the teachers name on it. Now I am getting orders to do more baby ones. They are really fun to make, work up quick and make a nice a gift. I cut the large squares at 2 1/2". Layered it with a little smaller one. Added stickers, dimentionals anything I had. All goes into a 8 x 10 inch frame.

Here is a quick card I made for a graduation. I have so many embellishment stickers and paper I just made up this random card.

I used a 6 x 6 card. It usually costs more to mail a square card so I figured I am going to the party so I might as well use up my card stock of blank cards.

White card stock
Pink for next layer
Floral paper next layer.
I used an Anna Griffin large dimensional butterfly, tied with a ribbon.

I got the stamps at Michaels, there was about 4 to a package for 2.50. I cut it with my Stampin Up label punch and inked the edges pink to give it a finished look.

On the Inside I stamped Hat's off to You in the middle. I used up some of the scrap paper to put on the inside just to dress it up a bit.

Baby Picture Frame Collage

There have been a lot of babies born in the family so I wanted to give a personal gift. This is an 8 x 10 frame. There are 4 squares going across that measure 2 1/2 x 2 1/2. Then I layered another paper on top 2 1/8 x 2 1/8, used dimentional dots, scraps of paper, embellishments and stickers for the name LUKE!! Just use your imagination.

I have an order to do a teacher one, I will post that when I am done. This is not my original idea I saw it on a stampin up website.

I made up these Easter favors to sell at work. I used the Cricut Easter Cartridge and cut the eggs at 2 3/4" filled the bags with M & M's and Jelly Beans. I found this site to have the cheapest bags.

New Arrival- Gift Tag

I made a gift tag using the New Arrival Cartridge. I made the booty at 5 3/4" and did the shadow at 6".

I glued the top together so you could open the bottom and write inside. The ribbon on the booty is cut at 3 3/4" and I put a bit of glitter in the center. The saying is from Sarah the Pink Cricut line of stamps. Quick and Easy!! Great to add to the basket!!

So many babies coming in the family this year. I am going to a baby shower in a few weeks. They are having a boy. When I went to Michael's and found this wooden crate I thought what a great reusuable box to put my gift in. They have them in two sizes. This is the large one. They also come in Pink!! So cute!!

Baby Girl Diaper Cake!

I made this one for my other niece. She is having a girl in a few more weeks. I used for the top two tiers receiving blankets and the bottom was a baby towel. I needed something a little bigger for the bottom.

Just roll the diapers up and hold with an elastic. I used a plastic cup upside down in the middle of the top two layers to help them stay together.

If you look on You Tube you can find many versions of how to make this. So far these two cakes have been a hit at the showers.

Have fun and let your imagination go. Half the fun is figuring out how to decorate it.

M & M's for Baby shower favors

Here is another idea for baby shower favors. I bought these bags from http://www.clearbags.com/ the bags are 1" wide by 8" long. They come in a package of 100 for 4.00 I think but shipping is ridiculous like 16.00. I only bought the 100 to see if I liked making them. It was a bit tricky to fill the bags so I pushed a straw inside the bag and squeezed the bag from side to side slightly so it would stay open. Then I made a funnel out of paper to fit in the opening and poured the M & M's in that way.

I filled with 26 M & M's and used a 2 1/2 circle punch to cut the paper for tags. Used pinks for the ribbons. Very easy. The M & M's are the Easter ones that are out now which are perfect for baby showers.

I am making favors for a baby shower. They don't want the traditional colors because they don't know if it is a boy or girl.

These are called Sour Cream containers. I cut them at 5 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches.

For the duck and onsie I used the Cricut cartridge New Arrival!

If you go to you tube and search sour cream containers they give you step by step instructions. I made mine a bit bigger than the usual size people seem to use. The stamp set was from Pink by Design!

Thanks for looking. I will post later what I came up with. I have to see what ideas they have for me. Need to make about 40 of them.

Gift cards for any occasion!

Here is a gift card holder I made for a baby shower. This one ties in the back in a nice bow. Or I can make them with out the bow and you can just seal it with the sticky tape enclosed on them. I never usually have the same paper but they can be made to order for girls, boys, birthdays, weddings, anniversary's. I sell them for 4 for $10.00. You can mix and match also.

Basket for the mother of a Newborn!

I like to make up baskets in unusual tins or baskets that can be reused for the mom. In this one I enclosed lots of note cards, thank you notes, a journal for notes on her baby, pen, gift tags. I like to enclose some anti bacterial soap and shower gels too. I didn't have any cellophane left but wanted to show it to you anyway. Usually I would have a big bow on it with a homemade gift card from my cricut!!

First Diaper Cake!

I have always wanted to make one of these diaper cakes. The mom doesn't want to know what she is having so I went with yellow and green.

If you google you tube how to make a diaper cake you can get step by step instructions. Basically I rolled pampers size 2 diapers from the wide end to the narrow end., then put an elastic around it.

Some people put large elastics around a baby bottle and start building from their. I had large plastic cups so I used them and it worked perfect fitting each layer together.

I had to pull out some diapers on the way to fit things in. I added some yellow shredded paper for effect.

So the bottom layer had three rows, second layer two rows and the top layer one row. I did wrap each layer with a receiving blanket except the bottom, because I needed something longer, so I used a baby towel. Got some diaper pins to keep them closed then tied bows in the back where everything connected.

Now to deliver in one piece to the shower. I might get a stuffed animal for the top not sure. Under that hat is a duck in a box so I used it to puff up the hat and used sticky strip to the box and cup to hold in place.

I hope to make another one this year. They are fun but very expensive. So festive though.

Working on Craft Fair Items.

I have been so busy getting ready for the craft fair I am doing this Saturday that I have neglected to post anything on my blog. After this I can start getting into card making again.

Decorated Paint Can

My daughter's birthday is Thursday she will be 27. Where did the years go. She always had a Halloween theme on her birthday parties. I bought this paint can at Michael's during the summer. They were marked down because they had flowers on them.

I added some fun Halloween paper and ribbon to decorate the can. Inside I put little goodies like, cleanser, toothpaste, tic tac's anything small I could find. Added some fun curly shredded paper to it. She can remove the paper and use for something I'm sure.

Hershey bar sliders are a cute fun way to give a little token to friends, co-workers, neighbors. I am doing a craft fair next month and thought I would try these. I really like the crimping on the bottom. I used a dimensional sticker I had, and ribbon.

If you google Hershey sliders you will find many video's of them done on You tube.

I did adjust the measurements on mine to be 7" x 6 1/2" It seemed like I needed more room than the 6" x 6"
video's I have seen. I hope to make alot of these for the fair. Although, I don't want to make too many in case things don't sell. I haven't done a craft fair in ages so this will be trial and error I'm sure. LOL

Cute Gift Card Holder!!! Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge

I found the cutest gift card holder on the Plantin Schoolbok Cartridge. I set the dial at 3 3/4 which is a speck bigger than an actual gift card. I used double sided paper so I could have a pretty design inside and out.
On the front side I punched a scallop at 1 3/4" in pink then punched a 1" for the white to write the name of recipient.

Go to Page: 79

Press Tall Ball set dial at 3 3/4" for paper size. Shift, then press on the bottom line button 8 ( in white) on the 5th row. This one will put the hole in the card holder for ribbon or brad. If you press the Shadow feature on this you won't get the hole. Either way they are cute. Fold on sides and along bottom with your bone folder for a crisp line.

Here are my two versions of the card: Can't wait to make some Christmas ones.

You could also put some solid color paper on the front for their name. Or just put the hole envelope inside a card.

Make sure you use sticky strip on the sides to hold it together good.

Quick gift for my friend! Before and After!!

My friend and I share the same birthday which is tomorrow. We work together and she loves crafts. So I made up a little something for her. Now for the before picture.: I got the note book at the dollar store they were 3 for 1.00. What a difference a little paper makes. First I just sort of fit the yellow part on the book first then folded the purple over the binder. Used the extra sticky red strip glue for that.

HSN 24 HOUR CRAFTING EVENT

Wild Card (Piggy Bank Money Holder)

This card is so cute. It is from the Wild Card Cart. I really have just started learning about this one it was a bit confusing.

Here is what I did: Using a card cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"

Cut Piggy Bank-at 3 1/2" on dial size. Press Shift, frame, and real dial size. Look at the Frame page in your book and count over 9 spaces in the white part, 4th row down and press the piggybank. Then Cut.

The Happy Shopping is cut at 2" on the real dial size again. Look at he Phrase page and Press phrase, second row 5 over in the white

It will cut a slit at the top to put your money in. You need to use pop up strips to adhere it so you can fit the money in. I didn't do that at first and couldn't get the money in. I also ran the blue in the background through my cuttlebug.

Once you make it it will seem easier.

Shower Favors/Gifts

I have been working on some ideas to try and do favors/gifts for the craft show. My boss wants me to make a scrapbook of what I make to see if we can get customers to order anything. I don't know about that but its fun to create. My craft room is a mess just doing one project. Then I have to clean it so I can do something else.

Hershey Nugget Tin and Tic Tac Holder

See my other post for the Hershey nugget tins.

The Tic Tac Holder I measured about 4 5/8 x 3"
rounded the corners. Put a bit of adhesive on the side of the tic tac holder and made a crease just by pressing the container.

I am also working on some cute Chirstmas Tags I will show you later this week.

Wild Card Cartridge

I made a 40th anniversary card for a party that I am going to on Saturday.

I used the Wild Card Cartridge:

Recipe:

White cardstock cut at 5 1/2" This card is on the 1st line the 4th one in. cut at 5 1/2"- press cut
liner at 5 1/2" press cut. ( the black and silver part)

the center where the opening is I just put a wedding cake dimensional sticker that I had and used the piece of the liner for the inside that was left on the cricut mat.

This card could be used for anything, birthdays, thank you's very versitale.

Tea light flower candle lollypops

This picture here is the back of the lollypop.

I am doing a craft fair in the fall so I was searching online for ideas. I saw a lolly pop candle but they had a stick coming out of the side of the candle. Which I didn't like. So I searched good old Your tube and sure enough someone had made a similar one. Dawn from Stampin up. Link is below. I stuck a lollypop stick behind the candle and covered it with a scallop punch so it looks like a flower and covers the stick.

This lollypop is is a tea light candle:

Recipe:

lollypop stick
tea light candle
glue dots/glue gun
cello lollypop wrapper
ribbon
tag using Very Merry Tags on the Cricut cut at 2 1/4"
scallop punch 1 3/4" ( that is the biggest punch I had) 2" punch might look nice too.

I punched out a scallop punch at 1 3/4" to glue behind the candle which also hides the stick. I put a bit of glue on the inside cup of the candle holder because they fall out when standing. The glue dots seem to hold it in place. The scallop punch gave the look of a flower. Put it in the bag., tied the tag on and then tied the ribbon on it. These would make great favors for weddings too. I am going to stamp on them, enjoy, for you, etc Here is the You tube video that I found last night. She has awesome videos Dawn from Stampin Up.

I made this cute Birthday card and matching envelope. It works great with the double sided paper. I cut the card and envelope at 4 1/4". These would be so cute to make a bunch of in different designs to keep on hand.

I have been trying to come up with something to make my customers for Christmas. I am a hairdresser and like to give them a little something to say thank you for coming all year. I came across these cocoa sliders on You Tube, they hold one packet of cocoa. If you search You Tube they have lots of videos on the Cricut, card making, scrapbooking. etc. Also alot of the blogs that I follow have great videos to share with you.

Recipe:

1 packet of cocoa
Red card stock cut at 7 3/4" x 5 1/2"
Tree Cardstock cut at 7 3/4" x 4 1/2

Thread ribbon through hole then push ribbon down into pocket to form a loop to hold the cocoa packet. Tie at top. When you pull up the ribbon the cocoa comes out of the pocket.

I used the Very Merry Tags Cartridge for my tag. Cut at 2 3/4" "warm wishes" was perfect. This cartridge has a lot of cute tags to make for the holidays.

Ribbon Organizer!

I had my ribbon in a drawer and it was a mess. I didn't know what I had and it was unraveling. When I went to Michael's I had a 50% off coupon and found this ribbon holder. I am Loving it. I can see what I have at a glance, plus I still have room for plenty more. With the coupon it came to 10.99. Love coupons!! I never buy craft supplies without a coupon or if it's not on sale.

Here is one I made in less than 10 minutes. These are really fun to make. I bought the acrylic frame at the Christmas Tree shop for 89 cents. I went to BJ's wholesale warehouse and found the post it notes, 18 in a package for 9.99. Then I found these pens in all different colors. 36 in a package for 11.99. So they ended up coming to 18 cents each. My boss wants me to bring some into work and try selling them. I am a hairdresser, I tell you these ladies love to buy things. I made a wreath for the shop and people wanted to buy that. LOL

Post it Note on Coaster

Here is a 4 x 4 coaster that I bought at Michaels. They were in the $1.00 bin. I got 8 for $1.00. I found some scrap paper and cut at 4 x 4 and trimmed the corners. Glued it to the coaster with the sticky rolling glue. I topped it with a 3 x 3 post it note. Then took a large paper clip and attached the paper to it. I did decorate with clip with coordinating paper. Tied a bow on top of the clip. Hope to be doing a craft fair in the fall with my friend.

Tag Swap

I am doing a tag swap with several other people. The theme is Nature. I cut the tag from Tags, Bags, boxes and More at 5". The bird is from Straight from the Nest. The grass is from Plantin Schoolbook. The stamp is from My pink Stamper . We had to make 5 of them. Then I will receive 5 back.

Hershey Nugget Tins

I have seen so many versions of these so I decided to make one. I bought the tins online at

Tin Rectangular Window 5.5" by 3.7" hinged at http://www.specialtybottle.com/. They hold 12 Hershey nugget candies. I then wrapped them with decorative paper. You can cut a strip of paper at 3" wide. Then cut 1" accross. I found I had to use a little tape to keep them from coming apart.

The outside I just decorated with two pieces of scrap paper and had a butterfly chipboard to use up.

Great way to use up some scraps and give a nice gift too.

Rubber Stamp Storage!

I went to Joann Fabrics today. I came across this photo case that holds 100 4 x6 pictures. It was 1.99 with 40% off coupon it came to 1.19. Any way I have been looking of a way to store my stamps. I took the stamps I got from MPS and pulled off the sheet with the pictures of the stamps and put it on the outside of the case. I also did the same to the back with another set. It was the perfect fit. Then I put the stamps on the inside to match where the pictures were. The case locks shut so now It is so easy to get my stamps and not lose them. No more struggling with trying to get them out of the sleeve.

In today's mail my first Cricut Lite arrived I ordered the Sugar and Spice on Ebay. I got it for 36.99 which was good because they sell at Walmart for 39.00 plus tax and gas to pick it up. None of our Walmarts have them around here. Actually the craft departments in them are looking pretty empty.

The cartridges have an actual plastic case to hold everything which is great compared to the solutions. I will post something later today with it. As you can see the have a trifold booklet. I think the way this is set up is actually easier than the regular books. I will let you know!

Recipe:

4 x 6 in. acrylic frame
4 x 6 in mat paper
green heart cut at 2 1/2"
Letter K cut as Italic 1 3/4" I ran the K through the cuttlebug using swiss dots.
1 package of post it notes, ribbon

So many different ways to decorate these. Have fun with them!

A quick and easy project. This can be as fancy or easy as you want.

Recipe:

4 x 6 in acrylic photo frame with stand

4 x 6 in. paper for background

1 package of post it notes- when the notes are gone just add a new one with double sided tape.

I used the plantin school book cartridge and cut the word notes at 1"

I had a sticker I used that said Home is where the Heart is.

Really fun to make, there are so many different versions of this. You can use buttons, ribbon, layer your Cricut cuts, even use the cuttlebug. I made this for my desk. I have also seen them done with a pen that is called RSVP pens and you cut the paper to put inside the pen that matches the paper background then tie with a ribbon. You can use your stamps, stickers, even make an initial and give as a gift.

I ordered a Cricut Lite Cartridge on Ebay. I paid under 36.99 for the Lovely Floral. As soon as it comes I will be making some new cards with that. I have quite the collection of paper and carts. Now I have to put them to good use. I work as a hairdresser and my boss was so impressed with some of the cards I brought in that she wants me to sell them at the shop. I need to package them up. I figured I would try, Thank you notes, birthday cards, baby cards, and assortments. Hope I'm not getting in over my head. I'll let you know how that goes. Working on some stuff now. I made this card for my husband for Father's Day. My dad passed away 2 years ago and he will always be my dad. The kids are older now and buy their own Father's Day cards so I made my husband this card for being a wonderful person, father and my one and only. Actually, we started dating when we were 16!! I can't believe these cartridges just snuck out. It seems like nobody knew they were coming out. At Walmart they have these cartridges, not all are available yet though. They are like a solutions cartridge but come in a nice box. There are 50 images on each and they have just a Layer feature from what I understand. They seem pricey though they are 39.00 plus tax. Yikes! But they do have some cute ones. I guess I will have to check Ebay!!

I made this card tonight using the Hello Kitty Greetings. Easy to use Cartridge. I recommend it especially for me it was good because I am a beginner. I used the swiss dots on the cuttlebug too. The saying is from My Pink Stamper stamp set.

Here is the graduation card I made for my son. I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge again. I did the Rolly Polly letters. Added glitter, ribbon, and the stamp from My Pink Stamper. I love her stamps.
